Services For Adults

Book of the Month:  Each month a different book is selected and multiple copies are borrowed from other libraries.   If available, at least one Large Print copy is also borrowed.  Patrons can check these out anytime during the month the book is highlighted.

Up All Night: Aplington and Parkersburg Public Libraries have partnered together for this program.

This is an adult book group generally meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Kothe Memorial Library in Parkersburg. This group will focus primarily on mysteries, thrillers, and suspense books. The Program runs from April through October.

Bingo:  "Park It Here, Bingo" runs from September through May each year and is held the first Tuesday of each month at the Parkersburg Civic Center at 1:00pm.  Kothe Memorial Library provides the bingo cards, manages the prizes and coffee and Parker Place manages the snacks and calls the Bingo.  A number of donors, many which are anonymous fund the bingo prizes.  The program is free and no sign up is required to attend.

Outreach:  Kothe Memorial Library is open to bringing programming to other groups.  Most months you will see a representative of Kothe Memorial Library at an assisted living community located in Parkersburg.

Other Programming:  Random programs are brought to the Library.  Some are Iowa authors, some may be craft related or challenges, such at Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge.

Programs are listed on our event calendar, as well as on Facebook and other media options.  Flyers are also posted in the Library.
